L&rsquo;appel est simple : les employeurs doivent tout mettre en oeuvre afin de supprimer les obstacles \u00e0 l\u2019emploi pour toutes les g\u00e9n\u00e9rations, selon l\u2019OCDE.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Le rapport <em>Promoting an Age-Inclusive Workforce<\/em> explique en effet que, d\u2019ici 2050, plus de quatre personnes sur dix dans les \u00e9conomies mondiales les plus avanc\u00e9es devraient avoir plus de 50 ans. Dans les \u00e9conomies de l\u2019OCDE, on comptera une personne de 65 ans et plus pour deux personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es de 20 \u00e0 64 ans, contre une pour trois aujourd\u2019hui.<\/p>\n<p>Pourtant, les politiques publiques en vigueur dans les domaines de l\u2019emploi et des retraites, ainsi que de nombreuses pratiques des entreprises, sont souvent \u00e9troitement li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge des travailleurs, plut\u00f4t qu\u2019\u00e0 leur capacit\u00e9 r\u00e9elle de travail et \u00e0 leurs besoins individuels. Si les travailleurs \u00e2g\u00e9s n\u2019ont jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 en aussi bonne sant\u00e9 et aussi qualifi\u00e9s qu\u2019aujourd\u2019hui, il n\u2019en reste pas moins que leurs comp\u00e9tences restent souvent sous-utilis\u00e9es et sous-estim\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Promouvoir une plus grande diversit\u00e9 en termes d\u2019exp\u00e9riences, de g\u00e9n\u00e9rations et de talents peut procurer des avantages consid\u00e9rables aux travailleurs, aux entreprises et \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 dans son ensemble\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l\u2019OCDE Angel Gurr\u00eda. <em>\u00ab\u00a0Les employeurs doivent mettre en place des initiatives en faveur de la diversit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e2ge au travail, dans une perspective de cycle de vie, en s\u2019appuyant sur des politiques publiques favorables et un dialogue social de qualit\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>D\u2019apr\u00e8s le rapport, le niveau de vie dans la zone OCDE conna\u00eetrait une am\u00e9lioration sensible si le taux d\u2019activit\u00e9 des travailleurs \u00e2g\u00e9s augmentait. Un allongement de la vie active pourrait accro\u00eetre le PIB par habitant de 19% en 2050 en moyenne dans les pays de l\u2019OCDE si les taux d\u2019emploi des travailleurs \u00e2g\u00e9s rattrapaient partout ceux des pays les plus performants, comme l\u2019Islande et la Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande.<\/p>\n<p>La discrimination fond\u00e9e sur l\u2019\u00e2ge reste un probl\u00e8me courant partout dans le monde, restreignant les choix professionnels pour les travailleurs \u00e2g\u00e9s, et parfois m\u00eame les plus jeunes, repr\u00e9sentant un co\u00fbt consid\u00e9rable pour les entreprises.<\/p>\n<p>Plut\u00f4t que de se concentrer sur l\u2019\u00e2ge, les politiques du march\u00e9 du travail devraient \u00eatre adapt\u00e9es \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents contextes et diff\u00e9rentes situations individuelles. Une telle d\u00e9marche suppose d\u2019\u00e9liminer les distorsions li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge dans les pratiques de recrutement et d\u2019encourager une culture de la diversit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e2ge, dans laquelle tous les travailleurs se sentent \u00e0 l\u2019aise et appr\u00e9ci\u00e9s quel que soit leur \u00e2ge.<br \/>\nIl est essentiel de retenir les talents. Le rapport montre que les employeurs qui r\u00e9pondent de fa\u00e7on positive \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9volution des besoins des salari\u00e9s \u00e0 tous les stades de leur vie et de leur carri\u00e8re am\u00e9liorent leurs chances d\u2019attirer, de motiver et de retenir leurs effectifs. Les travailleurs, quant \u00e0 eux, sont susceptibles d\u2019apporter une plus grande contribution \u00e0 leur milieu de travailet d&rsquo;\u0153uvrer pleinement \u00e0 l\u2019am\u00e9lioration de son efficience et de sa productivit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Outre des modalit\u00e9s de travail plus flexibles, mettre en place des programmes de stages de retour \u00e0 l\u2019emploi et offrir des possibilit\u00e9s de planification de carri\u00e8re et de planification financi\u00e8re tout au long de la vie des salari\u00e9s peuvent constituer des politiques efficaces de r\u00e9tention des travailleurs \u00e2g\u00e9s comme des plus jeunes. Les mentorats invers\u00e9s pr\u00e9sentent \u00e9galement de nombreux avantages dans des environnements de travail multig\u00e9n\u00e9rationnels et contribuent \u00e0 combattre les st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes li\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge.<\/p>\n<p>Les pouvoirs publics et les entreprises devraient revoir leur conception de la formation et du d\u00e9veloppement des comp\u00e9tences. Actuellement, seuls 41 % des adultes dans la zone OCDE suivent une formation li\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019emploi. En outre, les salari\u00e9s qui sont plus jeunes, plus qualifi\u00e9s et titulaires de contrats \u00e0 temps plein sont davantage susceptibles de b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier d\u2019une formation que les salari\u00e9s plus \u00e2g\u00e9s et moins qualifi\u00e9s qui travaillent \u00e0 temps partiel.
