L\u2019Antwerp Management School et l\u2019Universit\u00e9 libre d\u2019Amsterdam nous invitent \u00e0 repenser notre vision de la carri\u00e8re : que signifient le bonheur au travail, les succ\u00e8s et les regrets dans notre vie professionnelle ?<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>En collaboration avec House of HR, des chercheurs de l&rsquo;Antwerp Management School et de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 libre d\u2019Amsterdam ont men\u00e9 une \u00e9tude sur les attentes des travailleurs belges et n\u00e9erlandais d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui. Il en ressort que ces derniers donnent \u00e0 leur satisfaction professionnelle une note moyenne de 7,37 sur 10. Toutefois, 20% d\u2019entre eux ne sont pas satisfaits de leur carri\u00e8re. Les chercheurs concluent donc \u00e0 la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019une plus grande \u00e9galit\u00e9 des chances et d\u2019une perspective de carri\u00e8re plus r\u00e9aliste.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9tude confirme que 1 salari\u00e9 sur 5 n&rsquo;est pas satisfait de sa carri\u00e8re. Raison de plus pour examiner ce qui rend une carri\u00e8re durable. La sant\u00e9 mentale et le bonheur au travail semblent \u00eatre les plus privil\u00e9gi\u00e9s. 56% des r\u00e9pondants trouvent la sant\u00e9 mentale tr\u00e8s importante, 46% disent la m\u00eame chose du bonheur. En revanche, seul un quart des personnes interrog\u00e9es consid\u00e8re que la productivit\u00e9 est tr\u00e8s importante pour l&rsquo;avenir.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Une plus grande vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 des jeunes en mati\u00e8re de bien-\u00eatre mental et de bonheur au travail<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9tude montre que la jeune g\u00e9n\u00e9ration attribue des scores plus bas concernant la sant\u00e9 mentale. Ainsi, les travailleurs de 18 \u00e0 25 ans accordent une note moyenne de 2,8 sur 5 \u00e0 leur sant\u00e9 mentale, tandis que ce chiffre passe \u00e0 3,6 sur 5 pour les 55 ans et plus. Les jeunes t\u00e2tonnent encore dans leur vie professionnelle et affichent donc un niveau de mobilit\u00e9 professionnelle plus \u00e9lev\u00e9. <em>\u00ab\u00a0Des perspectives de carri\u00e8re r\u00e9alistes s\u2019imposent afin d&rsquo;\u00e9viter les regrets de carri\u00e8re\u00a0\u00bb,<\/em> explique Sofie Jacobs de l&rsquo;Antwerp Management School. <em>\u00ab\u00a0Un accompagnement ad\u00e9quat des nouveaux venus sur le march\u00e9 du travail peut contribuer \u00e0 amortir le choc de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 que repr\u00e9sente le passage des \u00e9tudes au monde du travail. Des conseils de carri\u00e8re plus larges et plus de temps pour explorer les options de carri\u00e8re pourront faire la diff\u00e9rence.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Une vision classique de la r\u00e9ussite<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 la pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence marqu\u00e9e des r\u00e9pondants pour la sant\u00e9 mentale et le bonheur au travail, force est de constater que les symboles traditionnels de la r\u00e9ussite, tels que la promotion, le salaire et le statut, d\u00e9terminent encore les perspectives de carri\u00e8re de nombreux travailleurs. La satisfaction professionnelle est \u00e9galement nettement plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e parmi les cadres moyens et dirigeants et les professionnels. Pour ces fonctions, 15% indiquent un faible niveau de satisfaction par rapport \u00e0 leur carri\u00e8re actuelle. En revanche, chez les ouvriers et les employ\u00e9s ex\u00e9cutants, ce chiffre passe \u00e0 23%.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;\u00e9tude confirme \u00e9galement que les femmes sont aussi souvent promues que les hommes. Toutefois, on constate qu&rsquo;elles restent exclues des fonctions sup\u00e9rieures et donc des salaires plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s. La mobilit\u00e9 ascendante des femmes ne se traduit pas par autant de postes \u00e9lev\u00e9s et de salaires aussi \u00e9lev\u00e9s que ceux des hommes. Des mesures ont donc \u00e9t\u00e9 prises en faveur de l&rsquo;\u00e9galit\u00e9 des sexes, mais il reste encore du chemin \u00e0 parcourir dans ce domaine.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Des regrets de carri\u00e8re<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Au total, un tiers des r\u00e9pondants ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 regretter leur parcours professionnel. L&rsquo;\u00e9tude montre une diff\u00e9rence frappante dans le ressenti de ces regrets entre les diff\u00e9rentes g\u00e9n\u00e9rations. Les personnes de plus de 55 ans, ayant davantage d&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience professionnelle, donnent \u00e0 leur sentiment de regret une note de 2,6 sur 5, tandis que les jeunes de 18 \u00e0 35 ans attribuent une moyenne de 3 sur 5. Les chercheurs avancent comme explication possible que la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration plus \u00e2g\u00e9e a eu plus de temps pour franchir certaines \u00e9tapes de sa carri\u00e8re ou qu&rsquo;elle s&rsquo;est r\u00e9sign\u00e9e \u00e0 la fa\u00e7on dont les choses se sont d\u00e9roul\u00e9es. La jeune g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, en revanche, montre plus de regrets quant \u00e0 sa carri\u00e8re, en raison, peut-\u00eatre d\u2019attentes encore tr\u00e8s \u00e9lev\u00e9es ou d\u2019une vision irr\u00e9aliste des carri\u00e8res et du march\u00e9 du travail.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0Une politique de carri\u00e8re inclusive qui offre des possibilit\u00e9s \u00e0 toutes et \u00e0 tous est imp\u00e9rative\u00a0\u00bb,<\/em> explique Sofie Jacobs de l&rsquo;Antwerp Management School. \u00ab\u00a0<em>Chaque groupe pourra ainsi avoir sa chance sur le march\u00e9 du travail. Il ne faut pas non plus sous-estimer l&rsquo;importance de g\u00e9rer aussi bien activement que passivement sa carri\u00e8re, car ce dernier aspect a un impact sur la mesure dans laquelle les travailleurs eux-m\u00eames font l&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience de l&rsquo;agency (la puissance d\u2019agir) dans ce domaine.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Source: les conclusions de ce rapport font partie d&rsquo;une enqu\u00eate \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle men\u00e9e aupr\u00e8s des travailleurs par l&rsquo;Antwerp Management School, House of HR et l\u2019Universit\u00e9 libre d\u2019Amsterdam. Sofie Jacobs, professeure de GRH et d&rsquo;industries cr\u00e9atives \u00e0 l&rsquo;Antwerp Management School et Jos Akkermans, professeur associ\u00e9 de carri\u00e8res durables et de comportement organisationnel \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 libre d\u2019Amsterdam, ainsi que House of HR, ont men\u00e9 cette enqu\u00eate \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle en sondant 1610 travailleurs en Belgique et aux Pays-Bas. Un \u00e9chantillon repr\u00e9sentatif a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 en novembre 2021. Les r\u00e9pondants furent s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide d&rsquo;un panel en ligne et d\u2019un \u00e9chantillonnage bas\u00e9 sur la r\u00e9gion, l&rsquo;\u00e2ge, le sexe, le dipl\u00f4me et la fonction.
