C\u2019\u00e9tait dans une usine p\u00e9trochimique de la r\u00e9gion du Centre (ce qui veut dire, fanfare et cotillons tous les deux ans au moment de ren\u00e9gocier les CCT\u2026).<br \/>\nJe ne repense pas tellement au contenu des projets que nous avons men\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque mais bien \u00e0 la superbe brochette de m\u00e2les dominants qui composaient le codir \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque (eh oui, pas une minette \u00e0 l\u2019horizon\u2026). Lequel d\u2019entre nous se trouve encore \u00e0 bord de ce codir aujourd\u2019hui? No one.<!--more--><br \/>\nEt le hasard a voulu, il y a peu, que je m\u2019attable un soir dans un restaurant aclot o\u00f9 se tenait un repas du personnel de cette m\u00eame usine guillerette\u2026 Au fil des minutes, alors que les ex-coll\u00e8gues se succ\u00e9daient pour me taper la bise et \u00e9voquer un souvenir finalement terrible (20 kilos de plus et un d\u00e9placement strat\u00e9gique de pilosit\u00e9 \u00e0 assumer !), j\u2019en arrivais \u00e0 me dire que les travailleurs, les produits, les installations n\u2019ont pas fondamentalement chang\u00e9. Le Codir a quant \u00e0 lui \u00e9t\u00e9 renouvel\u00e9 totalement \u00e0 trois reprises au cours des 20 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es. Et la bo\u00eete vit toujours, plut\u00f4t bien m\u00eame !<br \/>\nDe quoi continuer \u00e0 travailler l\u2019humilit\u00e9 des uns et des autres mais surtout \u00e0 s\u2019interroger sur ce qu\u2019un directeur\/manager\/leader peut v\u00e9ritablement apporter \u00e0 son organisation ?<\/p>\n<p>\u201dQuand l\u2019oeuvre des meilleurs chefs est achev\u00e9e, le peuple dit : c\u2019est nous qui avons fait \u00e7a\u201d\u2026 Ce coquin de Lao Tseu, \u00e0 l\u2019instar de ses coll\u00e8gues philosophes de la Chine ancestrale, nous a l\u00e9gu\u00e9 quelques le\u00e7ons de management pour l\u2019\u00e9ternit\u00e9.<br \/>\nCe sont sans doute la vanit\u00e9 et\u2026 la pression des r\u00e9sultats qui poussent les managers \u00e0 entreprendre une refonte fondamentale de la strat\u00e9gie \u00e0 chaque fois qu\u2019ils rejoignent une nouvelle \u00e9quipe ou une nouvelle organisation. Est-ce bien cela qui est attendu ?<br \/>\nDans le mod\u00e8le du manager proche du super-h\u00e9ros\/h\u00e9ro\u00efne, la r\u00e9ponse est indubitablement oui! Mais ce mod\u00e8le fait-il encore du sens ? Indubitablement, non !<\/p>\n<p>La confrontation au temps nous donne la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 : nous ne sommes que de passage et l\u2019ambition de laisser une trace dans les entreprises par lesquelles nous transitons est vaine, voire d\u00e9plac\u00e9e.<br \/>\nNotre r\u00f4le consiste \u2013 \u00e0 plus forte raison en tant que People Managers, m\u00eame si je veux m\u2019adresser ici \u00e0 tout qui exerce une fonction manag\u00e9riale ! \u2013 uniquement \u00e0 cr\u00e9er l\u2019espace d\u2019expression pour celles et ceux qui acceptent de consacrer une partie significative de leur temps \u00e0 la r\u00e9alisation de l\u2019objet social de l\u2019entreprise. Comment proc\u00e9der ?<\/p>\n<p>Il est clair qu\u2019il faut inverser le paradigme. Nous ne pouvons pas continuer en cultivant au sein des organisations ce foutu d\u00e9s\u00e9quilibre dans la r\u00e9partition des t\u00e2ches. M\u00eame si celui-ci est \u00e0 l\u2019image de la r\u00e9partition des richesses du monde global, il va falloir s\u2019atteler \u00e0 montrer l\u2019exemple et redistribuer les r\u00f4les. La concentration des t\u00e2ches-cl\u00e9s sur un groupe d\u2019\u00e9lite dans l\u2019organisation est un cancer.<br \/>\nCe n\u2019est pas de d\u00e9l\u00e9gation qu\u2019il s\u2019agit si nous voulons r\u00e9soudre cette question d\u2019\u00e9quilibre. Ce n\u2019est pas davantage de business partnering dont nous parlons ici. Le Business Partner n\u2019est qu\u2019un valet aux ordres d\u2019un autre directeur confort\u00e9 dans sa position despotique par la mise \u00e0 disposition d\u2019un ex\u00e9cutant \u00e8s people management.<\/p>\n<p>Il faut inverser la notion de \u201cservice\u201d pour que nous mettions les outils, les proc\u00e9dures, les processus et les comit\u00e9s de direction au service des individus qui composent l\u2019entreprise. Cela requiert un sens certain de la vocation. Cela exige que nous comprenions que l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 passe par la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 adapter nos mod\u00e8es et pratiques en vue d\u2019offrir \u00e0 d\u2019autres les moyens de se r\u00e9aliser dans les domaines o\u00f9 ils \u00e9voluent. Car Lao a dit ceci aussi (et plein d\u2019autres choses) : \u201ccelui qui excelle \u00e0 employer les hommes se met au-dessous d\u2019eux\u201c.
