L\u2019impact sur l\u2019\u00e9cart salarial est toutefois rest\u00e9 limit\u00e9 et pourrait m\u00eame sembler positif \u00e0 premi\u00e8re vue : l\u2019\u00e9cart salarial s\u2019est en effet l\u00e9g\u00e8rement r\u00e9duit par rapport \u00e0 2019. Il n\u2019y a n\u00e9anmoins pas de quoi se r\u00e9jouir : cette baisse serait principalement due au fait que de nombreuses femmes touchant des salaires peu \u00e9lev\u00e9s n\u2019ont pas pu travailler.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>L\u2019Institut pour l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 des femmes et des hommes publie de nouveaux chiffres sur l\u2019\u00e9cart salarial bas\u00e9s sur les donn\u00e9es de 2020 de l\u2019Office National de S\u00e9curit\u00e9 Sociale (ONSS). L\u2019\u00e9cart salarial s\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ve \u00e0 8,5% apr\u00e8s correction pour la dur\u00e9e de travail, et \u00e0 21,6% sans correction. Ce qui repr\u00e9sente une l\u00e9g\u00e8re baisse par rapport \u00e0 l\u2019ann\u00e9e pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente. G\u00e9n\u00e9ralement cette diminution confirme l\u2019am\u00e9lioration progressive de la position des femmes sur le march\u00e9 du travail. En 2020, cependant, la situation \u00e9tait diff\u00e9rente. Les pertes d\u2019emploi et le ch\u00f4mage temporaire ont touch\u00e9 les ouvriers et les ouvri\u00e8res de mani\u00e8re disproportionn\u00e9e. L\u2019absence, sur le march\u00e9 du travail, des ouvri\u00e8res, qui ont souvent des salaires tr\u00e8s peu \u00e9lev\u00e9s, fait qu\u2019elles n\u2019ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 prises en compte dans le calcul du salaire moyen des femmes. Cons\u00e9quence : un salaire moyen plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 pour les femmes en 2020 et un \u00e9cart salarial plus petit.<\/p>\n<p>Bien que tout le monde ait \u00e9t\u00e9 confront\u00e9 \u00e0 la pand\u00e9mie, il est vite apparu que ses effets \u00e9taient in\u00e9galement r\u00e9partis. Les personnes ayant de faibles qualifications n\u2019ont en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral pas pu t\u00e9l\u00e9travailler, les contrats temporaires n\u2019ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 renouvel\u00e9s et celles et ceux qui \u00e9taient au ch\u00f4mage pendant cette p\u00e9riode y sont rest\u00e9-e-s. Parmi les personnes faiblement qualifi\u00e9es, un grand \u00e9cart de genre se dessine \u00e9galement : les femmes sont souvent plus vuln\u00e9rables que les hommes. Leurs salaires sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement beaucoup plus bas que ceux des hommes peu qualifi\u00e9s. En outre, 71% des ouvri\u00e8res travaillent \u00e0 temps partiel, contre seulement 15% des ouvriers[1]. Les salaires horaires en moyenne d\u00e9j\u00e0 tr\u00e8s bas des ouvri\u00e8res donnent donc de tr\u00e8s maigres r\u00e9sultats \u00e0 la fin du mois.<\/p>\n<p>Michel Pasteel, directeur de l\u2019Institut, explique : <em>\u00ab\u00a0Les cons\u00e9quences de la pand\u00e9mie ont \u00e9t\u00e9 in\u00e9galement r\u00e9parties. Les personnes qui \u00e9taient d\u00e9j\u00e0 vuln\u00e9rables sur le march\u00e9 du travail ont souvent \u00e9t\u00e9 les plus durement touch\u00e9es. Pensez aux aides m\u00e9nag\u00e8res, aux aides de cuisine, aux ouvri\u00e8res dans les usines, etc. Nous devons mener des actions cibl\u00e9es pour soutenir ce groupe, afin qu\u2019il puisse garder la t\u00eate hors de l\u2019eau lors des crises actuelles et futures.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sarah Schlitz, Secr\u00e9taire d\u2019Etat \u00e0 l\u2019Egalit\u00e9 des genres :<em> \u00ab\u00a0La pand\u00e9mie de Covid-19 et les mesures visant \u00e0 l\u2019endiguer ont touch\u00e9 les femmes de mani\u00e8re disproportionn\u00e9e. Largement majoritaires dans de nombreux m\u00e9tiers dits essentiels \u2013 m\u00e9tiers de la sant\u00e9 et l\u2019aide aux personnes, de la grande distribution, de la petite enfance, du nettoyage\u2026 \u2013 les travailleuses ont souvent \u00e9t\u00e9 aux premiers rangs de la lutte contre la pand\u00e9mie, alors m\u00eame que ces m\u00e9tiers souffrent de d\u00e9valorisation soci\u00e9tale et financi\u00e8re. Les femmes les plus vuln\u00e9rables en particulier ont \u00e9t\u00e9 frapp\u00e9es de plein fouet par les cons\u00e9quences sociales et \u00e9conomiques de la crise sanitaire.
