Ainsi, aujourd\u2019hui, il est frappant de constater \u00e0 quel point elles souffrent d\u2019un manque cruel d\u2019esprit solidaire dans leur fonctionnement quotidien. Et dans le m\u00eame temps, elles confient les manettes \u00e0 des dirigeants boost\u00e9s par l\u2019ego, pour lesquels le principal carburant demeure la r\u00e9ussite personnelle et l\u2019obtention des 15 minutes de c\u00e9l\u00e9brit\u00e9 promises jadis par Andy Warhol. Est-ce compatible? Nous le pensons et voici, une fois n\u2019est pas coutume, trois raisons d\u2019y croire.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Un phare dans la nuit ?<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nUn des axes forts sur lesquels chaque manager est invit\u00e9 \u00e0 travailler &#8211; que cela lui plaise ou non &#8211; concerne le d\u00e9veloppement de sa visibilit\u00e9. Il ne suffit plus de \u2018faire\u2019, ni d\u2019accumuler les r\u00e9sultats. Encore faut-il le faire savoir\u2026 La place de la communication (que certains appellent \u2018politique\u2019) est centrale aujourd\u2019hui pour installer la cr\u00e9dibilit\u00e9 et repr\u00e9senter une source d\u2019inspiration pour les \u00e9quipes. L\u2019exemplarit\u00e9 doit \u00eatre soutenue par des efforts nombreux et continus en mati\u00e8re de pr\u00e9sence et de p\u00e9dagogie. Le manager doit communiquer en permanence pour que chacun.e comprenne le sens de la marche et se sente investi dans le projet collectif. Bien s\u00fbr, la d\u00e9marche est souvent et rapidement assimil\u00e9e au d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019un culte de la personnalit\u00e9, imagin\u00e9 pour assurer les perspectives de progression et de carri\u00e8re de son sujet principal. Appelons cela la ran\u00e7on de la gloire\u2026 Car, avant tout, cette d\u00e9marche remplit bel et bien une attente forte: dans nos entreprises, comme dans notre soci\u00e9t\u00e9 donc, nous avons besoin de h\u00e9ros du quotidien qui fonctionnent comme des points de rep\u00e8re et de rassemblement. Ceci explique au moins en partie pourquoi des egos survitamin\u00e9s \u00e9mergent dans nos entreprises: ils\/elles r\u00e9pondent de fa\u00e7on logique \u00e0 la demande g\u00e9n\u00e9rale tout en y trouvant un terrain d\u2019expression de leurs talents et la reconnaissance de ceux-ci par la foule en d\u00e9lire. Tout le monde est content\u2026 ou presque.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Des int\u00e9r\u00eats pas toujours convergents<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nDans cette alchimie subtile entre des leaders assoiff\u00e9s de lumi\u00e8re et les troupes en qu\u00eate d\u2019inspiration, il y a un danger quasi permanent. Celui-ci se trouve dans la \u2018difficult\u00e9\u2019 de prendre les bons arbitrages entre les priorit\u00e9s individuelles et collectives. Dans l\u2019id\u00e9al, les int\u00e9r\u00eats de l\u2019entreprise et ceux de ses dirigeants devraient toujours se rejoindre. Mais la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 est souvent perverse. Nous pourrions convenir que l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat collectif (voire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral) devrait primer de mani\u00e8re syst\u00e9matique. Et le meilleur moyen de garantir ce principe consiste sans doute \u00e0 \u00e9viter la concentration des prises de d\u00e9cision aux mains d\u2019un et un seul monarque \u00e9clair\u00e9. Injecter du participatif \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelon d\u00e9cisionnel dans l\u2019entreprise &#8211; alors que celle-ci n\u2019est pas un lieu de d\u00e9mocratie &#8211; constitue certainement un enjeu majeur en mati\u00e8re de gouvernance\u2026 Particuli\u00e8rement dans cette p\u00e9riode o\u00f9 r\u00e8gne la confusion des statuts &#8211; nous reviendrons sans doute sur les avantages et inconv\u00e9nients des managers agissant au quotidien via des soci\u00e9t\u00e9s de management &#8211; et la multiplication des conflits d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eats qui en d\u00e9coulent.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Le temps et la modestie finalement<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nAu fond, le luxe ultime que nous devrions nous offrir, c\u2019est le temps! Les managers n\u2019en ont pas assez dans une journ\u00e9e, ils n\u2019en ont pas assez dans une ann\u00e9e pour imprimer le cours des \u00e9v\u00e9nements et avoir un impact positif et (surtout) durable. Or, la solidarit\u00e9, c\u2019est peut-\u00eatre essentiellement une question de temps disponible pour les autres (et un peu pour soi aussi, ne l\u2019oublions pas). Prendre du temps ensemble, s\u2019\u00e9pargner mutuellement les tracas, gagner du du temps par l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 collective\u2026 Nous sommes lanc\u00e9s d\u00e9sormais dans une course \u2018contre\u2019 le temps, pensant peut-\u00eatre que nous serions capables d\u2019en inverser le cours. En vain, c\u2019est \u00e9vident. C\u2019est sans doute une question de modestie \u00e0 acqu\u00e9rir pour des managers convaincus que cette dimension est \u00e9lastique, comme toutes les autres. Ce n\u2019est pas le cas.<br \/>\nLe temps passe. Les managers et leurs egos aussi. L\u2019invitation est lanc\u00e9e donc afin de privil\u00e9gier pourquoi pas l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9gance et la discr\u00e9tion \u00e0 la puissance et \u00e0 la gloire.
