Le taux de ch\u00f4mage de l’OCDE est rest\u00e9 inchang\u00e9 \u00e0 4.9% en d\u00e9cembre 2024, apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9gal ou l\u00e9g\u00e8rement inf\u00e9rieur \u00e0 5.0% tout au long de l’ann\u00e9e 2024. Dans l’Union europ\u00e9enne et la zone euro, les taux de ch\u00f4mage en d\u00e9cembre sont rest\u00e9s globalement stables \u00e0 5.9% et 6.3%, respectivement. <\/p>\n

Par rapport au mois de novembre, les taux de ch\u00f4mage sont rest\u00e9s inchang\u00e9s en d\u00e9cembre dans 19 pays de l’OCDE, tandis qu’ils ont augment\u00e9 dans 7 pays et diminu\u00e9 dans 6 autres. Quatre pays de l’OCDE ont enregistr\u00e9 un taux de ch\u00f4mage mensuel inf\u00e9rieur \u00e0 3.0% dont Isra\u00ebl qui a atteint son taux historiquement le plus bas (2.6%). Toutefois, le taux de ch\u00f4mage \u00e9tait sup\u00e9rieur de 2.0 points de pourcentage (p.p.) ou plus \u00e0 son niveau le plus bas dans neuf pays de l\u2019OCDE.<\/p>\n

Le taux de ch\u00f4mage a \u00e9t\u00e9 stable dans deux-tiers des 17 pays de l’OCDE membres de la zone euro tandis qu\u2019il a diminu\u00e9 en Lituanie, en Finlande, et au Portugal. Il a augment\u00e9 en Italie, apr\u00e8s cinq mois cons\u00e9cutifs de baisse, et en Autriche.<\/p>\n

Depuis f\u00e9vrier 2022, le taux de ch\u00f4mage de l’Espagne reste le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 des pays de l’OCDE membres de la zone euro. En dehors de l\u2019Europe, compar\u00e9es \u00e0 d\u00e9cembre 2024, les donn\u00e9es de janvier 2025 montrent que le taux de ch\u00f4mage au Canada et aux \u00c9tats-Unis est rest\u00e9 globalement stable \u00e0 6.6% et 4.0%, respectivement.<\/p>\n

En 2024, le nombre de femmes et d’hommes au ch\u00f4mage dans la zone OCDE est rest\u00e9 globalement stable, augmentant l\u00e9g\u00e8rement pour atteindre un total de 34.3 millions, juste au-dessus du niveau de 2023. Les taux de ch\u00f4mage de l’OCDE pour les femmes et les hommes sont rest\u00e9s globalement stables en d\u00e9cembre 2024, \u00e0 5.2% et 4.7%, respectivement. Le taux de ch\u00f4mage de l’OCDE chez les jeunes travailleurs (\u00e2g\u00e9s de 15 \u00e0 24 ans) a l\u00e9g\u00e8rement diminu\u00e9 pour atteindre 11.1%. Il \u00e9tait sup\u00e9rieur de 7.0 p.p. au taux de ch\u00f4mage des travailleurs \u00e2g\u00e9s de 25 ans et plus, lequel est rest\u00e9 stable. Le taux de ch\u00f4mage des jeunes est rest\u00e9 sup\u00e9rieur ou \u00e9gal \u00e0 20% dans 7 pays de l’OCDE en d\u00e9cembre (ou au cours de la derni\u00e8re p\u00e9riode disponible). En revanche, le Japon et Isra\u00ebl ont enregistr\u00e9 les taux de ch\u00f4mage des jeunes les plus bas de la zone OCDE, chacun \u00e9tant inf\u00e9rieur \u00e0 4.0%.<\/p>\n
