Pourtant, leur plein potentiel ne peut \u00eatre atteint que lorsque chacun, quel que soit son genre, peut y apporter sa contribution. Dans le cadre de la r\u00e9cente Journ\u00e9e internationale des droits des femmes, il est temps de reconna\u00eetre l&rsquo;impact transformateur des femmes dans la science \u2014 et les obstacles qui les freinent encore.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Les femmes repr\u00e9sentent d\u00e9sormais plus de 50 % des dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s de l&rsquo;enseignement sup\u00e9rieur dans la plupart des pays, une avanc\u00e9e majeure vers la parit\u00e9. Au niveau doctoral, l\u2019\u00e9cart se r\u00e9duit \u00e9galement, avec des taux d\u2019obtention de dipl\u00f4mes avanc\u00e9s comparables \u00e0 ceux des hommes dans plusieurs r\u00e9gions.<\/p>\n<p>Cependant, bien que l&rsquo;\u00e9ducation pose les bases de l&rsquo;\u00e9galit\u00e9 des genres, des d\u00e9fis \u00e9mergent lorsque les femmes progressent dans les carri\u00e8res de recherche.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>Une repr\u00e9sentation manquante dans la recherche<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 leur pr\u00e9sence croissante dans l\u2019enseignement sup\u00e9rieur, les femmes restent sous-repr\u00e9sent\u00e9es dans le monde de la recherche. La parit\u00e9 entre chercheurs et chercheuses n\u2019a \u00e9t\u00e9 atteinte que dans quelques pays, soulignant la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de poursuivre les efforts pour garantir des opportunit\u00e9s \u00e9gales.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>Femmes innovatrices : un potentiel inexploit\u00e9<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Dans le domaine de l\u2019innovation, l\u2019\u00e9cart entre les genres est encore plus marqu\u00e9. Les femmes sont largement sous-repr\u00e9sent\u00e9es parmi les inventeurs, ce qui refl\u00e8te des obstacles structurels dans l\u2019acc\u00e8s aux ressources, aux r\u00e9seaux et aux opportunit\u00e9s de contribuer \u00e0 la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 intellectuelle.<\/p>\n<p>R\u00e9duire cet \u00e9cart pourrait transformer le paysage de l\u2019innovation en lib\u00e9rant un potentiel cr\u00e9atif inexploit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>Conserver les talents : un d\u00e9fi invisible<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>La repr\u00e9sentation n\u2019est pas le seul enjeu\u2014retenir les femmes dans la recherche est tout aussi crucial. Des \u00e9tudes, dont un r\u00e9cent rapport publi\u00e9 dans la revue Nature (en langue anglaise), montrent des disparit\u00e9s de genre dans le monde acad\u00e9mique, avec un taux disproportionn\u00e9 de d\u00e9parts f\u00e9minins dans certaines disciplines. Il est essentiel de cr\u00e9er des environnements o\u00f9 les femmes peuvent s\u2019\u00e9panouir pour assurer des progr\u00e8s durables.<\/p>\n<p>Ce probl\u00e8me est \u00e9troitement li\u00e9 \u00e0 la pr\u00e9carit\u00e9 et aux conditions de travail difficiles rencontr\u00e9es en d\u00e9but de carri\u00e8re (lien en anglais). Des environnements hyper-comp\u00e9titifs, des contrats postdoctoraux pr\u00e9caires et une r\u00e9mun\u00e9ration insuffisante poussent de nombreux titulaires de doctorat \u00e0 quitter le milieu acad\u00e9mique pour d\u2019autres carri\u00e8res, les femmes et les groupes sous-repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s \u00e9tant particuli\u00e8rement touch\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>R\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ces d\u00e9fis n\u00e9cessite une action politique urgente : am\u00e9liorer les conditions de travail, soutenir les chercheurs en d\u00e9but de carri\u00e8re et diversifier les parcours en recherche (lien en anglais).<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019Observatoire des carri\u00e8res en recherche et innovation (lien en anglais) souligne l\u2019importance de b\u00e2tir un \u00e9cosyst\u00e8me R&amp;I plus inclusif et durable, o\u00f9 les talents sont non seulement attir\u00e9s mais aussi retenus, quelle que soit leur origine.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>Vers une plus grande diversit\u00e9 dans la science<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Les analyses bas\u00e9es sur les donn\u00e9es, issues notamment des indicateurs du Tableau de bord STI de l\u2019OCDE et du travail du Forum mondial de la science, mettent en lumi\u00e8re des actions concr\u00e8tes pour favoriser l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 des genres.
