Un besoin intime de reconnaissance \u00e0 satisfaire. Un trajet incertain aussi, parsem\u00e9 de victoires glorieuses et d\u2019\u00e9checs lamentables. Quelles sont les motivations appropri\u00e9es aujourd\u2019hui pour vouloir endosser le costume du leader et du dirigeant ? Parce que, franchement, il est bien n\u00e9cessaire d\u2019avoir de solides convictions \u2013 ainsi qu\u2019une grande confiance en soi, souvent assimil\u00e9e \u00e0 de l\u2019arrogance \u2013 pour se taper les reproches et complaintes de celles et ceux qui attendent. Voyons donc, dans l\u2019air du temps, de quel mental les grands et petits leaders doivent-ils se doter pour augmenter leurs chances de r\u00e9ussite?<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Il y a peut-\u00eatre autant de mod\u00e8les et de raisons que de leaders diff\u00e9rents. Et un nombre infini de variables qui font que le leadership est un plaisir ou une punition. Pourtant, la volont\u00e9 d\u2019avoir un impact sur le cours des \u00e9v\u00e9nements s\u2019appuie sur un besoin profond plus ou moins exprim\u00e9.<br \/>\nNous voyons trois formes d\u2019ambition qui m\u00e9ritent que chacun.e int\u00e9ress\u00e9 par l\u2019art de \u2018diriger\u2019 pourrait examiner. Pourquoi ? Pour comprendre ce qui nous meut et le partager sinc\u00e8rement avec celles et ceux qui nous accordent leur confiance.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>Le pouvoir, parce que le monde a besoin de figures incarnant l\u2019autorit\u00e9 !<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Pour certain.e.s, il est \u00e9vident que leur force et\/ou leur intelligence soient reconnues par le plus grand nombre. Le pouvoir doit appartenir selon elles\/eux \u00e0 une cat\u00e9gorie d\u2019individus qui disposent de capacit\u00e9s sup\u00e9rieures. Car c\u2019est bien de \u2018pouvoir\u2019 dont il s\u2019agit, dans le sens o\u00f9, chaque jour, des d\u00e9cisions doivent \u00eatre prises.<br \/>\nIl y a d\u2019ailleurs tout un pan de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 qui appelle au retour de l\u2019autorit\u00e9 (et logiquement, ce \u2018mouvement\u2019 se retrouve dans nos organisations), qui manifeste le besoin d\u2019identifier un pouvoir qui ne souffre pas la contestation. Mais il y a aussi \u2013 et heureusement \u2013 une autre frange de la population qui se nourrit de l\u2019\u00e9change, du dialogue, de la dialectique\u2026 Cette conception du pouvoir gonfl\u00e9 aux hormones est vieille comme le monde. Mais celles et ceux qui croyaient qu\u2019elle \u00e9tait d\u00e9finitivement obsol\u00e8te en sont pour leurs frais aujourd\u2019hui. Les leaders autocratiques ont retrouv\u00e9 un terrain d\u2019expression dans une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 craintive et agressive \u00e0 la fois.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>\u2018Je ne suis pas un.e femme\/homme de pouvoir mais j\u2019ai envie d\u2019\u00eatre utile\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A l\u2019oppos\u00e9, nous avons les managers et dirigeants qui ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de fonctionner \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat g\u00e9n\u00e9ral et \u00e0 l\u2019impact positif qu\u2019ils peuvent avoir sur la soci\u00e9t\u00e9, \u00e0 quelque niveau que ce soit\u2026 Noble. Hyper-respectable. Et l\u00e9g\u00e8rement pr\u00e9tentieux aussi.<br \/>\nC\u2019est le destin auto-proclam\u00e9 en effet des leaders qui placent leurs interventions dans un cadre global, estimant par l\u00e0 que leur contribution devrait profiter au plus grand nombre. Souvent, c\u2019est de fausse modestie dont il s\u2019agit. Parfois, rarement, d\u2019un r\u00e9el engagement au service du plus grand nombre. Agir pour la collectivit\u00e9 demeure bien s\u00fbr une belle ambition, \u00e0 condition de ne pas se mentir \u00e0 soi-m\u00eame et de reconna\u00eetre que la d\u00e9marche r\u00e9pond aussi \u00e0 un besoin intime, consistant \u00e0 \u00eatre reconnu sur une \u00e9chelle de valeurs diff\u00e9rente. Rien n\u2019est vraiment \u2018gratuit\u2019.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>Vis ma vie d\u2019influenceur au service de sa communaut\u00e9.<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Il faut vivre avec son temps! Derri\u00e8re le vocabulaire \u2018trendy\u2019 auquel appartient le terme d\u2019influence, il y a une v\u00e9rit\u00e9 plus solide. Les influenceurs nous montrent peut-\u00eatre la voie d\u2019un leadership adapt\u00e9 \u00e0 notre \u00e9poque. Ce \u2018mod\u00e8le\u2019 est dominant aujourd\u2019hui et permet d\u2019\u0153uvrer dans la dur\u00e9e, sans prendre trop de lumi\u00e8re. Il vise avant tout \u00e0 constituer une communaut\u00e9 (libre et volontaire) avec laquelle nous entrons en mode conversationnel en continu. Ce qui implique aussi de pouvoir se taire quand on n\u2019a rien \u00e0 dire, y compris en pr\u00e9voyant de \u2018dispara\u00eetre\u2019 lorsque la communaut\u00e9 n\u2019a plus \u2018besoin\u2019 de nous.<\/p>\n<p>Une fois pass\u00e9 les connotations n\u00e9gatives qui accompagnent le terme \u2018influenceur\u2019 \u2013 qui sous-entend maladroitement une forme de manipulation -, nous pouvons r\u00e9aliser que ce nouveau statut n\u2019a pas \u00e9merg\u00e9 par hasard. Nos audiences \u2013 et par extension, nos collaborateurs \u2013 revendiquent \u00e0 juste titre leur libre-arbitre. Elles restent dans le m\u00eame temps en recherche constante d\u2019inspiration.<\/p>\n<p>Un leadership moderne, fond\u00e9 sur l\u2019influence et soutenu par une transparence maximale, peut r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 cette double attente. Il partage ses r\u00e9flexions et parfois m\u00eame ses \u00e9tats d\u2019\u00e2mes. Et respecte les d\u00e9cisions contraires. Sans h\u00e9siter \u00e0 voguer vers d\u2019autres horizons lorsqu\u2019il n\u2019est plus entendu\u2026 Toujours disponible et pr\u00eat \u00e0 partir.
