Difficile de se montrer confiant dans l\u2019avenir \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re de l\u2019actualit\u00e9 r\u00e9cente. Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, nous avons subi les changements du monde moderne comme autant d\u2019agressions visant \u00e0 nous faire dispara\u00eetre. Pourquoi ? Parce que notre culture et plus pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment notre mode de pens\u00e9e sont construits sur le doute. Il faut, nous dit-on, pouvoir penser contre soi-m\u00eame\u2026<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Sur le plan \u2018intellectuel\u2019, c\u2019est stimulant. Par contre, sur le plan \u2018op\u00e9rationnel\u2019, nous avons syst\u00e9matiquement un temps de retard. Le temps du doute, de la r\u00e9flexion, de la r\u00e9glementation, de la concertation\u2026 Celui qui nous place souvent dans la position d\u2019observateur ou de commentateur d\u2019\u00e9volutions men\u00e9es \u00e0 grande vitesse par les dictateurs et les pirates. Ne serait-il pas temps de changer notre fusil d\u2019\u00e9paule ?<\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>Penser contre soi-m\u00eame, un joli principe qui vire souvent \u00e0 l\u2019auto-destruction<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Dans notre culture europ\u00e9enne occidentale, le doute occupe une place centrale. C\u2019est le fruit d\u2019une longue tradition qui a permis d\u00e9velopper notre capacit\u00e9 de raisonnement et notre sens critique. Il nous permet d\u2019analyser les \u00e9v\u00e9nements et les mutations qui s\u2019encha\u00eenent, d\u2019essayer de les comprendre et de trouver les moyens de s\u2019y adapter.<\/p>\n<p>Cela prend du temps\u2026 Cela peut aussi anesth\u00e9sier notre capacit\u00e9 d\u2019agir. La culture du doute nous m\u00e8ne \u00e0 peser les diff\u00e9rentes options, \u00e0 envisager des alternatives et \u00e0 r\u00e9glementer afin d\u2019\u00e9viter les d\u00e9rives. Et ce pendant que d\u2019autres d\u00e9cident de foncer, peu importe les cons\u00e9quences finalement.<\/p>\n<p>Ce sont deux modes de pens\u00e9e qui se font face : l\u2019exigence \u2018intellectuelle\u2019 d\u2019une part et l\u2019action d\u00e9termin\u00e9e d\u2019autre part. Le sens de la nuance d\u2019un c\u00f4t\u00e9 et la force en mouvement de l\u2019autre. La temp\u00e9rance et une certaine forme de brutalit\u00e9.<br \/>\nNous sommes peut-\u00eatre enferm\u00e9s dans un sch\u00e9ma de r\u00e9flexion que nous poussons d\u2019ailleurs plus loin encore en invitant chacun.e d\u00e9sormais \u00e0 penser contre soi-m\u00eame. Int\u00e9ressant pour les neurones, pernicieux voire destructeur quant \u00e0 la gestion de nos certitudes.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>Se donner le droit d\u2019\u00eatre arrogant<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Il est bien s\u00fbr possible de concilier ces deux approches et de trouver un point d\u2019\u00e9quilibre entre penser et agir. Mais nous avons un autre souci \u00e0 r\u00e9gler entre-temps. Celui-ci concerne notre rapport \u00e0 la confiance en soi. Avec la culture du doute, nous avons aussi d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 un rejet puissant de l\u2019arrogance. En clair, nos organisations n\u2019acceptent pas celles et ceux qui affirment haut et fort des positions qui semblent d\u00e9finitives.<\/p>\n<p>Afficher une grosse confiance en soi n\u2019est pas bien vu. Il semble m\u00eame pr\u00e9f\u00e9rable de se montrer vuln\u00e9rable\u2026 Vraiment?<\/p>\n<p>Nous ne pouvons pas nier que, dans nos entreprises comme dans les institutions et toutes les instances qui organisent le collectif, ce sont des rapports de force et de pouvoir qui sont l\u2019enjeu. Et pour avancer, il y a bien s\u00fbr la qualit\u00e9 des arguments que l\u2019on d\u00e9veloppe mais aussi la conviction et l\u2019\u00e9nergie que l\u2019on partage avec nos pairs. \u00catre s\u00fbr de soi n\u2019est jamais une tare. Bien au contraire. Chacun.e d\u2019entre nous a le droit de se montrer arrogant lorsque les heures de travail et les comp\u00e9tences accumul\u00e9es nous permettent de montrer la voie \u00e0 suivre.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>Confiance en soi. Confiance envers les autres<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Pourquoi est-ce important? Parce que celles et ceux qui nous entourent souffrent de l\u2019incertitude. Nous sommes en crise. De mani\u00e8re permanente.<br \/>\nEt nous ne l\u2019avions sans doute pas vu venir mais les fondements de nos soci\u00e9t\u00e9s et de nos entreprises aussi, &#8211; \u00e0 savoir l\u2019art de la n\u00e9gociation, du consensus et du dialogue &#8211; sont aujourd\u2019hui d\u00e9crits comme d\u00e9cadents. Les d\u00e9monstrations de force se multiplient dans tous les domaines. Or, ce n\u2019est pas ce que nous voulons.<\/p>\n<p>C\u2019est l\u2019heure du choix si nous voulons \u00e9viter d\u2019\u00eatre les victimes de notre propre sens critique.<br \/>\nLa culture du doute que nous entretenons volontiers est un luxe dans l\u2019environnement qui nous entoure. Elle peut devenir un moteur, \u00e0 condition de lui associer le go\u00fbt du risque et la mise en \u0153uvre de notre capacit\u00e9 de r\u00e9invention (que l\u2019on peut appeler la r\u00e9silience, pour celles et ceux qui l\u2019entendent comme cela). C\u2019est au fond une simple question de confiance, envers soi-m\u00eame comme envers les autres.<br \/>\nFace aux transformations radicales qui sont en cours et qui provoquent la sid\u00e9ration, nous avons besoin de calme et de puissance, de r\u00e9flexion et de vitesse, d\u2019empathie et de combativit\u00e9. Rien d\u2019incompatible.
