Du d\u00e9but de leur carri\u00e8re jusqu\u2019\u00e0 devenir cadres exp\u00e9riment\u00e9es, la crainte de \u00ab\u2009demander trop\u2009\u00bb reste souvent pr\u00e9sente chez les femmes.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Selon Marie-Claire Olyslager, Senior Director chez Robert Half, cette r\u00e9ticence est souvent injustifi\u00e9e: <em>\u00ab\u00a0Je vois souvent des femmes douter de leurs propres capacit\u00e9s, minimiser leurs performances ou se sous-estimer. C\u2019est vraiment dommage, car cela peut nuire consid\u00e9rablement \u00e0 leurs perspectives d\u2019\u00e9volution au cours de leur carri\u00e8re. \u00c0 la diff\u00e9rence de ce que j\u2019observe chez beaucoup d\u2019hommes, les femmes pensent souvent que leurs employeurs finiront par remarquer leur travail. C\u2019est vrai dans certains cas, mais pas toujours ni partout. Les femmes doivent comprendre qu\u2019elles peuvent \u00e0 juste titre d\u2019\u00eatre fi\u00e8res de leurs r\u00e9alisations, et que la confiance en elles joue \u00e9galement un r\u00f4le dans la mesure o\u00f9 l\u2019employeur reconna\u00eet et r\u00e9compense de mani\u00e8re appropri\u00e9e leur contribution.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>Le foss\u00e9 de confiance ne date pas d\u2019hier<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne est loin d\u2019\u00eatre nouveau. Aux \u00c9tats-Unis, le <strong><em>\u00ab\u00a0confidence gap\u00a0\u00bb<\/em> <\/strong>fait l\u2019objet d\u2019\u00e9tudes depuis des ann\u00e9es, notamment \u00e0 la Harvard Business School. Des femmes au parcours professionnel exemplaire ont \u00e9galement parl\u00e9 ouvertement de ce doute int\u00e9rieur. Christine Lagarde, pr\u00e9sidente de la Banque centrale europ\u00e9enne, a admis que lorsqu\u2019elle \u00e9tait jeune avocate, elle craignait de para\u00eetre trop s\u00fbre d\u2019elle. Dans notre pays, la chanteuse Axelle Red, la cr\u00e9atrice de mode Inge Onsea et l\u2019\u00e9conomiste V\u00e9ronique Goossens ont parl\u00e9 des doutes qu\u2019elles ont eus au cours de leur carri\u00e8re quant \u00e0 leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 s\u2019affirmer.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0Cette r\u00e9ticence chez les femmes n\u2019a rien \u00e0 voir avec leur ambition\u00a0\u00bb,<\/em> souligne Marie-Claire Olyslager, <em>\u00ab\u00a0mais elle est due aux mod\u00e8les sociaux profond\u00e9ment ancr\u00e9s. Les hommes apprennent \u00e0 revendiquer leur valeur, tandis que les femmes ont plut\u00f4t tendance \u00e0 attendre ou \u00e0 esp\u00e9rer que leur travail parle de lui-m\u00eame.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>La confiance en soi s\u2019apprend<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Il y a toutefois aussi une bonne nouvelle : la confiance en soi peut \u00eatre acquise facilement. Avec une pr\u00e9paration consciente et de petits ajustements comportementaux, les femmes peuvent n\u00e9gocier avec plus de conviction. Il ne s\u2019agit donc pas d\u2019un talent inn\u00e9, mais d\u2019une comp\u00e9tence qui s\u2019apprend.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0Tout commence par les connaissances et la pr\u00e9paration\u00a0\u00bb,<\/em> affirme madame Olyslager. <em>\u00ab\u00a0Si vous connaissez votre valeur sur le march\u00e9 et que vous pouvez justifier votre contribution \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019exemples concrets, vous aborderez la discussion en position de force. Entra\u00eenez-vous \u00e0 pr\u00e9senter votre argumentaire, dites-la \u00e0 haute voix et consid\u00e9rez-le comme une reconnaissance de la valeur que vous apportez. La confiance en soi n\u2019est pas toujours inn\u00e9e. Elle se d\u00e9veloppe avec l\u2019exp\u00e9rience et la certitude que vous avez le droit de revendiquer cette valeur.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>Engagez la conversation<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Robert Half encourage les femmes \u00e0 reconna\u00eetre ouvertement leur valeur, tout en appelant les employeurs \u00e0 adopter des structures salariales transparentes et \u00e0 encourager les conversations ouvertes.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0L\u2019environnement a une influence sur la confiance en soi.
