Y a-t-il une question plus fondamentale que celle du bonheur pour celles et ceux qui sont charg\u00e9s du people management dans nos organisations? La r\u00e9ponse est non, bien entendu. Apr\u00e8s avoir abord\u00e9 au cours des derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es les probl\u00e9matiques des Valeurs (Stockholm, 2008), de l\u2019engagement et de la confiance (Bordeaux, 2010) et de l\u2019approche collaborative en RH (Edimbourg, 2011), la vingti\u00e8me \u00e9dition du congr\u00e8s mRH se penchera donc sur le th\u00e8me de la recherche du bonheur pour nos collaborateurs. Nous y parlerons libert\u00e9, autonomie, bien-\u00eatre, sens du travail et contribution \u00e0 la r\u00e9ussite de l\u2019organisation.<\/h1>\n

Once upon a time\u2026 <\/p>\n

Many tales begin with those words\u2026 And reality too\u2026 sometimes. Once upon a time, the leaders of a young democracy decided to include a new indicator amongst the many grading that classify their country: Raw National Happiness. This takes place in Bhutan, a small emerging country belonging to the same class as Cambodia in terms of Human Development (HDI) \u2026 a long way from the Asian El Dorado! Would it be possible to implement the same at company level? Should we not consider other criteria than those traditionally in place? Like happiness for instance?<\/p>\n

The theme of this 20th Congress may seem paradoxical at a time when we are all undergoing an economic slowdown with perspectives of deterioration for our working conditions. To the contrary, the moment seems perfect to think about \u201chappiness and management\u201d during these three days.<\/p>\n

We are convinced that the happiness of individuals at work \u2013 thus in their private lives, as the two converge \u2013 does not necessarily result from the first criteria that come to mind: high salary, flattering titles, exterior signs of success, etc. The sources of happiness may be unearthed elsewhere, and this is what we aim to do by identifying the action levers relevant for HRD and people managers.<\/p>\n

The opportunity of enjoying the presence of company directors and scientists will enable us to enlarge our field of reflection and should allow each one of us to discover new avenues to counter the bleak climate settling down on us.<\/p>\n

What better than a 20th congress to explore a theme that not falls under the scope of competence of HR but that touches it personally, like everyone else: how can we contribute to the happiness of others without questioning and taking action on our own happiness?<\/p>\n

I hope that, by the end of this 20th Congress, we will all be persuaded that being a HRD is also being a DRH: Developer of Resources towards Happiness!<\/p>\n
