Il lance une nouvelle campagne de sensibilisation soutenue par le ministre f\u00e9d\u00e9ral de l&rsquo;Emploi, Kris Peeters, qui souhaite \u00e9tudier les modalit\u00e9s de sanction envers les employeurs concern\u00e9s.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Le ministre f\u00e9d\u00e9ral veut en effet analyser comment sanctionner les employeurs qui discriminent sur base de l\u2019\u00e2ge des demandeurs d\u2019emploi qui sollicitent un travail dans leur entreprise.<br \/>\nLe Centre interf\u00e9d\u00e9ral pour l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 des chances (Unia) ouvre de plus en plus de dossiers \u00e0 la suite d&rsquo;un signalement pour une discrimination li\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge.<\/p>\n<p>Unia rappelle que <em>\u00ab\u00a0sur le march\u00e9 de l&#8217;emploi, il est ill\u00e9gal d&rsquo;exclure un candidat potentiel en fonction de son \u00e2ge\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>.\u00a0Pourtant, au cours des huit premiers mois de 2016, Unia a ouvert 74 dossiers \u00e0 la suite d&rsquo;un signalement pour une discrimination sur la base de l&rsquo;\u00e2ge. Ce chiffre constitue une hausse de 60% par rapport \u00e0 l&rsquo;ensemble de l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Parmi ces dossiers, pr\u00e8s de 60% concernent des personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es de plus de 45 ans. Les employeurs avancent souvent des arguments li\u00e9s aux co\u00fbts salariaux mais les pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s restent solidement ancr\u00e9s (dont celui pr\u00e9textant que les &lsquo;seniors&rsquo; seraient d\u00e9pass\u00e9s par les nouvelles technologies.\u00a0Patrick Charlier, directeur d&rsquo;Unia, rel\u00e8ve : <em>\u00ab\u00a0Choisir de retenir tel ou tel candidat en fonction de son \u00e2ge et non plus de ses comp\u00e9tences, c&rsquo;est envoyer un tr\u00e8s mauvais message \u00e0 la soci\u00e9t\u00e9. Les discriminations li\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge sont rarement prises au s\u00e9rieux.\u00a0Or, nous devons tous garder \u00e0 l&rsquo;esprit que le vieillissement de la population est une r\u00e9alit\u00e9 en Europe. Si cette partie croissante de la population fait face \u00e0 un risque important de discrimination sur le lieu de travail, alors nous sommes confront\u00e9s \u00e0 un r\u00e9el probl\u00e8me social\u00a0\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Sensibiliser les acteurs-cl\u00e9s de l&#8217;emploi<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;institution a lanc\u00e9 une campagne ciblant sp\u00e9cifiquement les acteurs cl\u00e9s de l&#8217;emploi, les organisations syndicales, les secteurs li\u00e9s aux personnes actives de plus de 50 ans, ou \u00e0 la jeunesse.\u00a0De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, le ministre de l\u2019Emploi Kris Peeters s&rsquo;inqui\u00e8te des chiffres diffus\u00e9s par Unia :<em> \u00ab\u00a0Le taux d\u2019emploi des travailleurs plus \u00e2g\u00e9s a nettement augment\u00e9 ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es. C\u2019est une \u00e9volution importante et positive, tout comme le fait que les travailleurs plus \u00e2g\u00e9s cherchent eux-m\u00eames plus souvent un emploi.\u00a0En collaboration avec les organisations patronales et les partenaires sociaux, je veux analyser comment combattre concr\u00e8tement cette forme sp\u00e9cifique de discrimination. Il n\u2019est pas acceptable que l\u2019on encourage les travailleurs plus \u00e2g\u00e9s de chercher un nouvel emploi ou de conserver leur emploi, alors que dans la pratique ils sont frein\u00e9s.\u00a0Je ne veux pas pr\u00e9c\u00e9der le dialogue, mais nous devons \u00e9viter que les employeurs discriminent sur base de l\u2019\u00e2ge. Je veux pouvoir appliquer des sanctions si je constate que les travailleurs plus \u00e2g\u00e9s ne parviennent pas \u00e0 d\u00e9crocher un emploi\u00a0\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A noter \u00e9galement que les seniors ne sont pas les seuls concern\u00e9s par le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne de discrimination : les jeunes sont eux aussi confront\u00e9s \u00e0 quelques pr\u00e9jug\u00e9s.
