De vraies plages de repos sont indispensables pour le fonctionnement des individus. L&rsquo;apparition d&rsquo;une dette de sommeil peut en effet avoir des cons\u00e9quences inattendues&#8230;<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Le Pr Narayanan indique : <em>\u00ab\u00a0Nombre de cadres tirent une certaine fiert\u00e9 du peu d&rsquo;heures de sommeil dont ils disent avoir besoin. La d\u00e9rive est r\u00e9elle. Contrairement \u00e0 ce que l&rsquo;on pense commun\u00e9ment, les preuves scientifiques existent quant aux d\u00e9ficits cognitifs provoqu\u00e9s par le manque de sommeil et \u00e0 l&rsquo;impact de ceux-ci sur nos performances au travail.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0En moyenne, un adulte a besoin de 7 \u00e0 9 heures de sommeil pour atteindre son meilleur rendement. Pourtant, les \u00e9tudes r\u00e9alis\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelon international indiquent que la majorit\u00e9 de la population active dort en moyenne 6h40 par jour et que 30% des actifs \u00e9prouvent une sensation de somnolence au travail. La privation de sommeil a un effet n\u00e9gatif v\u00e9rifi\u00e9 sur la prise de d\u00e9cision et conduit certains sujets \u00e0 une prise de risque extr\u00eame. Elle s&rsquo;av\u00e8re particuli\u00e8rement nuisible lorsque des processus complexes de d\u00e9cision exigent que nous soyons particuli\u00e8rement innovants sur le plan de la r\u00e9flexion. Le manque de sommeil nuit par ailleurs \u00e0 l&rsquo;engagement et accro\u00eet la probabilit\u00e9 de comportements contraires \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9thique. Plus que jamais, nous devons imp\u00e9rativement accorder toute l&rsquo;attention requise \u00e0 notre sommeil afin de performer au mieux.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0L&rsquo;am\u00e9lioration de notre sommeil est loin d&rsquo;\u00eatre une t\u00e2che insurmontable. De simples r\u00e9flexes nous aident \u00e0 mieux g\u00e9rer la quantit\u00e9 et la qualit\u00e9 de notre sommeil. Par ailleurs, divers outils technologiques (les fameux &lsquo;wearables&rsquo;) sont de r\u00e9els adjuvants en la mati\u00e8re. La cr\u00e9ation de certains rituels (soins du corps, musique&#8230;) permettent d&rsquo;am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 du sommeil, notamment lorsque nous sommes confront\u00e9s \u00e0 des d\u00e9placements professionnels fr\u00e9quents. L&rsquo;exercice physique, \u00e0 raison de 7 minutes par jour minimum !, \u00a0est favorable lui aussi dans la cr\u00e9ation d&rsquo;une forme de routine propice \u00e0 un sommeil r\u00e9parateur.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0La micro-sieste observ\u00e9e en pleine journ\u00e9e est \u00e0 promouvoir elle aussi, \u00e0 condition que celle-ci ne dure pas plus de 30 minutes.
