En cette huiti\u00e8me journ\u00e9e d\u00e9di\u00e9e \u00e0 la gentillesse, le quotidien Le Monde met en \u00e9vidence les bienfaits des comportements bienveillants et empathiques.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0Tenir la porte \u00e0 un coll\u00e8gue qui ne sourit pas en retour. Venir \u00e0 la rescousse d\u2019un confr\u00e8re en d\u00e9tresse sur un dossier urgent, sans le moindre remerciement. Le philosophe et \u00e9crivain, Emmanuel Jaffelin, auteur d\u2019un Eloge de la gentillesse en entreprise (First, 2015), \u00e9voque les bienfaits d\u2019une telle attitude ce jeudi 3 novembre.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>On a trop souvent peur de passer pour faible en se comportant gentiment. C\u2019est une erreur, selon Emmanuel Jaffelin : \u00ab\u00a0Etymologiquement, le mot gentillesse ne rime pas avec faiblesse mais bel et bien avec noblesse [du latin, gentilis, \u201cle noble, celui qui est bien n\u00e9\u201d]. Tenir la porte \u00e0 celui qui vous embo\u00eete le pas, est appr\u00e9hend\u00e9 comme gentil, car il y a une noblesse morale dans cet acte.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><br \/>\n<em> En entreprise, on parlera souvent de bienveillance, mais ce terme suppose une hi\u00e9rarchie. \u00ab\u00a0Le surveillant de prison est bienveillant avec le d\u00e9tenu en prolongeant la dur\u00e9e de parloir ; le patron est bienveillant en autorisant une salari\u00e9e \u00e0 quitter son poste parce que son enfant est malade. Mais ni le prisonnier ni le salari\u00e9 ne peuvent \u00eatre bienveillants avec leur sup\u00e9rieur.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Pour que votre comportement porte ses fruits, encore faut-il \u00eatre sinc\u00e8re. Etre gentil, c\u2019est vouloir rendre service \u00e0 quelqu\u2019un qui vous le demande, et sans escompter un retour sur investissement. \u00ab\u00a0Il ne faut pas \u00eatre gentil tout le temps, explique Emmanuel Jaffelin : la gentillesse est une morale du pouvoir et non du devoir. Je ne dois pas \u00eatre gentil, je peux l\u2019\u00eatre.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Par ailleurs, \u00ab\u00a0si vous voulez garder votre humanit\u00e9 et votre cr\u00e9dibilit\u00e9 en tant que dirigeant, poursuit-il, vous pouvez montrer que vous avez des \u00e9gards pour autrui, mais qu\u2019ils sont occasionnels. Vous \u00eates un fort en entreprise, parce que vous pouvez \u00eatre gentil, mais surtout pas parce que vous devez l\u2019\u00eatre ! Il n\u2019y a pas de devoir de gentillesse.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Vous serez le plus fort, m\u00eame face aux chefs<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>La gentillesse est indiff\u00e9rente et herm\u00e9tique \u00e0 toute posture sociale et vient \u00ab casser \u00bb momentan\u00e9ment l\u2019organigramme. \u00ab\u00a0Quand un cadre d\u2019entreprise tombe dans un couloir de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 qui l\u2019emploie, illustre Emmanuel Jaffelin, et que l\u2019h\u00f4tesse d\u2019accueil vient l\u2019aider \u00e0 se relever, la hi\u00e9rarchie n\u2019est plus. Celui qui est fort est celui qui est dans l\u2019empathie, pas celui qui a gliss\u00e9.\u00a0\u00bb Une mani\u00e8re agr\u00e9able de faire un pied-de-nez aux \u00e9chelons hi\u00e9rarchiques.<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Votre entreprise s\u2019en portera mieux<\/em><br \/>\n<em> La domination et l\u2019\u00e9crasement ne font pas la force d\u2019une entreprise, bien au contraire. Les soci\u00e9t\u00e9s o\u00f9 le quotidien est un western, avec son lot de \u00ab\u00a0tueurs\u00a0\u00bb et de \u00ab\u00a0chacun pour soi\u00a0\u00bb, seront perdantes face \u00e0 celles qui privil\u00e9gient la douceur, l\u2019intelligence \u00e9motionnelle et l\u2019empathie. \u00ab\u00a0Les salari\u00e9s sont bien plus efficaces lorsqu\u2019ils \u00e9voluent dans une atmosph\u00e8re bienveillante\u00a0\u00bb, rappelle le philosophe.<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Car l\u2019entreprise peut \u00eatre aussi une rampe de lancement de sociabilit\u00e9.
