En r\u00e9sultent alors directement une r\u00e9duction de leur bien-\u00eatre mais aussi d\u2019\u00e9normes dommages \u00e9conomiques.<!--more--><\/div>\n<p>En 2012, Susan Cain, dans son ouvrage <em>\u00ab Quiet : The Power of Introverts in a World That Can\u2019t Stop Talking \u00bb<\/em>, soulignait que la timidit\u00e9 n\u2019a rien \u00e0 voir avec l\u2019introversion. <em>\u00ab La timidit\u00e9 est la crainte du jugement social des autres. L\u2019introversion a plus \u00e0 voir avec la fa\u00e7on dont quelqu\u2019un r\u00e9agit \u00e0 des stimuli externes, dont aussi aux stimuli sociaux.  Les personnes extraverties peuvent ais\u00e9ment faire face \u00e0 de grandes quantit\u00e9s de stimuli, alors que les introvertis pr\u00e9f\u00e8rent la tranquillit\u00e9 et les environnements calmes. \u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p>D\u00e8s lors, un \u00e9v\u00e9nement qui surexcite le syst\u00e8me nerveux central d\u2019une personne introvertie produit chez cette derni\u00e8re plut\u00f4t une sensation d\u2019\u00e9crasement et d\u2019\u00e9puisement que d\u2019excitation et d\u2019implication.<\/p>\n<h2>Quelle place pour les introvertis ?<\/h2>\n<p>Dans notre soci\u00e9t\u00e9 moderne, les personnes introverties se sentent de plus en plus \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9troit \u00e0 tel point que l\u2019on peut parler d\u2019une crise en mati\u00e8re de respect de leur vie priv\u00e9e. Une crise qui s\u2019\u00e9tend aussi au lieu de travail en raison de la mobilit\u00e9 croissante, de la surcharge d\u2019informations, de la focalisation sur la collaboration et de la popularit\u00e9 toujours plus grande de l\u2019environnement bureaucratique ouvert.<\/p>\n<p>Une r\u00e9cente \u00e9tude r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par Steelcase sur le respect de la vie priv\u00e9e sur le lieu de travail montre que 4 personnes sur 10 n\u2019ont pas acc\u00e8s \u00e0 un lieu de travail o\u00f9 elles peuvent se retirer \u00e0 certains moments. Soumis \u00e0 un trop grand nombre de stimuli, ces travailleurs peuvent difficilement se concentrer durant une longue p\u00e9riode, source d\u2019improductivit\u00e9 et donc de dommages \u00e9conomiques.<\/p>\n<h2>Am\u00e9liorer l\u2019environnement de travail<\/h2>\n<p>Il est donc indispensable que les entreprises puissent offrir un environnement de travail adapt\u00e9 aux diff\u00e9rents profils.  Dans son enqu\u00eate, Steelcase avance quelques pistes: permettre aux introvertis de s\u2019isoler, leur laisser la possibilit\u00e9 d\u2019avoir leur mot \u00e0 dire sur l\u2019environnement, veiller \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9quilibre des sens et garantir le sentiment de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 physique.<\/p>\n<p>Introvertis\/extravertis : deux profils qui se compl\u00e8tent et forment la diversit\u00e9 aussi dans le monde de l\u2019entreprise.
