Ceux qui h\u00e9sitent encore auraient tout int\u00e9r\u00eat \u00e0 envisager de suivre une formation STEM. \u00a0La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de recrutement Hays tire en effet la sonnette d&rsquo;alarme : le march\u00e9 de l&#8217;emploi est confront\u00e9 \u00e0 une p\u00e9nurie de profils STEM. Toutefois, les formations semblent souvent trop difficiles et peu attrayantes pour les jeunes. Par ailleurs, les perspectives d&rsquo;avenir des \u00e9tudiants en STEM restent souvent floues. Une communication ouverte et une collaboration entre pouvoirs publics, \u00e9coles et entreprises sont d\u00e8s lors cruciales pour pallier le manque d&rsquo;ing\u00e9nieurs.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Le nombre insuffisant d&rsquo;\u00e9tudiants ayant opt\u00e9 pour une formation STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) engendre une p\u00e9nurie de candidats pour les offres d&#8217;emploi exigeant des connaissances dans les domaines des sciences, de la technologie, de l&rsquo;ing\u00e9nierie ou des math\u00e9matiques. Une p\u00e9nurie si importante qu&rsquo;elle entrave la croissance \u00e9conomique. \u00c0 titre d&rsquo;illustration : la Flandre compte en moyenne 0,91 candidat ing\u00e9nieur civil par offre d&#8217;emploi, alors que la moyenne r\u00e9gionale est de 5,4 candidats par poste vacant*.<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Art, National Director Life Sciences &amp; Contracting chez Hays : <em>\u00ab Le nombre d&rsquo;\u00e9tudiants qui ne terminent pas leur formation d&rsquo;ing\u00e9nieur augmente chaque ann\u00e9e. En raison du niveau de difficult\u00e9 \u00e9lev\u00e9 des \u00e9tudes, beaucoup d&rsquo;\u00e9tudiants d\u00e9crochent au cours du cursus. Une autre raison est que les \u00e9tudiants ne sont pas bien inform\u00e9s des fonctions sur lesquelles peuvent d\u00e9boucher leur dipl\u00f4me et mettent donc un certain temps \u00e0 comprendre qu&rsquo;ils n&rsquo;ont pas choisi les bonnes \u00e9tudes. C&rsquo;est un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne qui se produit partout en Europe. \u00bb<\/em> Selon Art, il est grand temps d&rsquo;en finir avec les clich\u00e9s sur les ing\u00e9nieurs et la formation, et de mettre l&rsquo;accent sur les perspectives d&rsquo;avenir qui s&rsquo;offrent aux ing\u00e9nieurs. <em>\u00ab Les scientifiques et ing\u00e9nieurs contribuent \u00e0 fa\u00e7onner l&rsquo;avenir et \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre des probl\u00e8mes majeurs. Leur parcours professionnel est souvent tr\u00e8s stimulant et a un impact important en raison des \u00e9volutions continues dans le secteur et des tendances changeantes. \u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Le stage , plus que jamais utilis\u00e9 comme\u00a0m\u00e9thode de recrutement<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En 2012, le plan d&rsquo;action STEM est entr\u00e9 en vigueur. Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une initiative du gouvernement flamand pour inciter les jeunes \u00e0 opter pour des formations et carri\u00e8res dans les STEM. <em>\u00ab Mais le gouvernement n&rsquo;est pas le seul \u00e0 jouer un r\u00f4le dans la promotion des formations STEM : les \u00e9coles, l&rsquo;enseignement, les partenaires de formation et les entreprises peuvent \u00e9galement y contribuer. Les entreprises ont la possibilit\u00e9 de proposer des stages afin que les \u00e9tudiants d\u00e9couvrent leurs activit\u00e9s et les \u00e9ventuelles perspectives d&#8217;emploi. \u00ab Avant, beaucoup d&rsquo;entreprises \u00e9taient plut\u00f4t r\u00e9ticentes \u00e0 l&rsquo;id\u00e9e d&rsquo;accueillir des stagiaires. Heureusement, \u00e0 l&rsquo;heure actuelle, elles comprennent mieux qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agit pour elles d&rsquo;une belle opportunit\u00e9. Les \u00e9tudiants peuvent ainsi d\u00e9j\u00e0 se familiariser avec l&rsquo;entreprise, sa culture et les perspectives qu&rsquo;elle offre. Le stage est d&rsquo;ailleurs devenu une nouvelle m\u00e9thode de recrutement. Les entreprises peuvent directement voir le potentiel de l&rsquo;\u00e9tudiant, et l&rsquo;\u00e9tudiant peut voir si l&rsquo;entreprise est faite pour lui. Le fait de montrer aux \u00e9tudiants des perspectives d&rsquo;avenir concr\u00e8tes est \u00e9galement un excellent moyen de les convaincre. \u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Les \u00e9coles influencent aussi les \u00e9tudiants dans leur future carri\u00e8re en les accompagnant dans le choix de leurs \u00e9tudes.
