L\u2019Institut pour l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 des femmes et des hommes re\u00e7oit chaque ann\u00e9e plus de signalements pour d\u00e9noncer des discriminations fond\u00e9es sur le genre. Qu\u2019elles soient \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9gard des femmes, des hommes ou des personnes transgenres, les discriminations de genre restent un probl\u00e8me majeur. Et malheureusement, le domaine de l&#8217;emploi reste le premier &lsquo;contributeur&rsquo; \u00e0 ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne d\u00e9plorable.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab Fonder une famille tout en travaillant, recevoir le m\u00eame salaire que son coll\u00e8gue, \u00eatre embauch\u00e9\u00b7e pour ses comp\u00e9tences, faire le sport de son choix, \u00eatre trait\u00e9\u00b7e avec respect&#8230; Cela sonne comme une \u00e9vidence, pourtant, nous sommes encore loin d\u2019une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 o\u00f9 chacune et chacun vit librement quel que soit son genre. Mais, le sexisme, les st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes de genre, les discriminations en raison d\u2019\u00eatre une femme, un homme, ni l\u2019un ni l\u2019autre ou les deux, sont de moins en moins tol\u00e9r\u00e9es. \u00bb<\/em> observe Michel Pasteel, directeur de l\u2019Institut pour l\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 des femmes et des hommes.<\/p>\n<p>Chaque ann\u00e9e, le nombre de signalements pour discrimination adress\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019Institut augmente. En 2018, l\u2019Institut a re\u00e7u 818 signalements, dont 355 demandes d\u2019informations, 258 plaintes et 205 communications. En cinq ans, le nombre de signalements a plus que doubl\u00e9, avec une hausse importante en 2017 qui se poursuit en 2018 (+11%). Les discriminations les plus rapport\u00e9es sont la discrimination directe, celle en raison du sexe et celle en raison de la maternit\u00e9. Les femmes en sont les principales victimes. La moiti\u00e9 des signalements sont \u00e9mis par des femmes, pr\u00e8s de 30% par des hommes.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>L&#8217;emploi, talon d&rsquo;Achille de notre soci\u00e9t\u00e9.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L\u2019emploi reste le domaine o\u00f9 les discriminations sont les plus fr\u00e9quentes, il repr\u00e9sente 45% des signalements. Dans ce domaine, pr\u00e8s de neuf signalements sur dix portent sur une discrimination directe. Les femmes sont discrimin\u00e9es \u00e0 chaque \u00e9tape de la relation de travail (recrutement, conditions d\u2019emploi, licenciement), et particuli\u00e8rement en raison de la grossesse et de la maternit\u00e9, m\u00eame futures. 90% des signalements pour discrimination sur base de la grossesse ou de la maternit\u00e9 sont li\u00e9s au travail.<\/p>\n<p>Les signalements pour incitation \u00e0 la discrimination ont tripl\u00e9 par rapport \u00e0 2017. Ils d\u00e9noncent essentiellement des propos haineux et sexistes prononc\u00e9s en rue, sur internet ou dans les m\u00e9dias. Un signalement sur cinq d\u00e9nonce un cas de sexisme.<br \/>\nLes signalements li\u00e9s \u00e0 la th\u00e9matique transgenre ont fortement augment\u00e9 en 2018, +63% par rapport \u00e0 2017. Cette hausse s\u2019explique, en partie par l\u2019entr\u00e9e en vigueur de la loi sur la modification de l\u2019enregistrement de sexe et les probl\u00e8mes administratifs qui ont suivi. De nombreuses personnes ont \u00e9galement contact\u00e9 l\u2019Institut au sujet de la nouvelle loi (76%). Les deux autres domaines les plus importants li\u00e9s \u00e0 la discrimination des personnes transgenres sont l\u2019emploi (28%) et les biens et services (28%). Conclure une assurance reste encore souvent probl\u00e9matique pour les personnes transgenres, cela repr\u00e9sente pr\u00e8s de 30% des signalements dans les biens et services.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab L\u2019\u00e9galit\u00e9 des sexes est un droit fondamental, mais aussi un fondement n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 la construction d\u2019une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 durable. Comme en attestent les signalements, nous n\u2019y sommes pas. Chaque ann\u00e9e, l\u2019Institut est amen\u00e9 \u00e0 traiter davantage de dossiers.
