De recente migratiegolf van vluchtelingen uit Syri\u00eb, Irak en Afghanistan doet de werkloosheid bij de allochtonen in Vlaanderen met 1,3 procent stijgen.<\/h1>\n

De Vlaamse arbeidsdienst VDAB telde eind februari in totaal 219.595 \u2018niet-werkende werkzoekenden\u2019. Dat zijn er 10.534 of 4,6 procent minder dan een jaar geleden.<\/p>\n

De dalende werkloosheidscijfers komen voor in alle leeftijdsgroepen en zowel bij laag- als hooggeschoolden.<\/p>\n

De Vlaamse minister van Werk, Philippe Muyters (N-VA), wijst evenwel op een enorm verschil in evolutie tussen de werkloosheid bij autochtonen en allochtonen. De werkloosheid bij de autochtonen nam in de voorbije twaalf maanden met 6,7 procent af, terwijl die bij de inwoners van allochtone afkomst met 1,3 procent is gestegen.<\/p>\n

Volgens Muyters is de \u2018recente migratiegolf uit Syri\u00eb, Irak en Afghanistan\u2019 hiervoor verantwoordelijk. Die vluchtelingen duiken nu voor het eerst in de statistieken van de VDAB op als offici\u00eble werkzoekenden. Vlaanderen telt nu 62.069 werklozen van allochtone afkomst, dat zijn er 800 meer dan een jaar geleden.<\/p>\n
